About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Programmer to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in G-code programming, a strong understanding of SolidWorks, and the ability to optimize CNC machining processes for efficiency and precision. This role is critical to ensuring high-quality production and continuous improvement in our machining operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, write, and optimize G-code programs for CNC machines (Punch and Press Breaks).
- Interpret and modify SolidWorks CAD models to create accurate tool paths and machining strategies.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure manufacturability and design intent.
- Set up and test CNC programs on machines, making adjustments as needed.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and recommend process improvements.
- Maintain documentation for CNC programs and tooling setups.
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in machining and programming.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as a CNC Programmer in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in G-code and CNC machine operation.
- Strong working knowledge of SolidWorks and CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, or similar).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Familiarity with machining materials and cutting tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience with multi-axis CNC machines.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and digital manufacturing workflows.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing and performing repetitive tasks.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at a time.
Work Environment:
May work in various settings at the Maverick Power facilities, in offices, in multiple shops, and commercial buildings. Maintaining the same position or posture while performing tasks and sitting for prolonged periods.
