Duties
- Assist attorneys in preparing, reviewing, and organizing legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, and discovery materials.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research using various resources to support case strategies and legal opinions.
- Manage and maintain case files with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring all documents are accurate and up-to-date.
- Coordinate communication between clients, courts, and internal teams to facilitate case progression and meet deadlines.
- Draft correspondence, memos, and summaries to support ongoing litigation or transactional work.
- Support the scheduling of meetings, court appearances, and depositions while maintaining calendars for attorneys.
- Ensure compliance with legal procedures and organizational policies throughout all case activities.
- file documents using North Dakota Odyssey File and Serve
Skills
- Strong understanding of legal terminology, procedures, and documentation standards.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in legal research tools, document management software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for clear articulation of complex information.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in document preparation and data entry.
- Prior experience as a paralegal or in a related legal support role is preferred but not required; relevant coursework or certifications are a plus.
