What are the responsibilities and job description for the Land Surveyor in Training/Assistant Project Manager position at Maverick Engineering?
This is not an entry-level role. Candidates must currently hold — or be eligible for — certification as a Land Surveyor in Training (LSIT) by the Texas Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors (TBPELS). Strong knowledge of surveying principles, practices, and regulatory standards is essential. This position requires proven field and technical expertise.

WHAT WE DO: We provide private and public sector clients with a full range of professional services in civil engineering and land surveying. Maverick provides planning, design and construction administration services in these areas to provide clients everything needed to carry projects from concept through completion.
WHAT WE SEEK: We are looking for a an experienced Land Surveyor In Training (LSIT)/Assistant Project Manager to grow with us. As an LSIT, you will work under the direction of a Professional Land Surveyor performing:
- Management of survey projects including Boundary, Topographic Design and Platting for residential, commercial, municipal, and industrial sites.
- Manage field crews including the planning, scheduling and coordination of survey work.
- Manage field data collection and calculations.
- Assist RPLS with deliverables.
- Coordinate projects with CADD technicians.
- Develop and maintain client relationships.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- LSIT required; or be eligible to:
- Take and pass the Fundamentals of Surveying (FS) exam AND
- Meet the Texas Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors (TBPELS) educational requirements.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in land development.
- AutoCAD or Civil 3D experience required.
