We are seeking an experienced Project Superintendent to lead field operations and oversee the successful execution of federal construction projects throughout Kennedy Space Center, Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, and Patrick Space Force Base.
Position Summary
The Project Superintendent is responsible for the overall management of field operations, subcontractors, safety, quality, scheduling, and project execution from mobilization through closeout.
The successful candidate will serve as the primary on-site leader and be responsible for coordinating multiple trades, managing daily construction activities, maintaining project documentation, and ensuring all work is completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with contract requirements.
Candidates with experience leading federal, military, NASA, Air Force, Space Force, Corps of Engineers, NAVFAC, or other government construction projects are strongly preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Project Leadership
- Manage all day-to-day construction activities on assigned projects.
- Lead and coordinate multiple subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and project stakeholders.
- Maintain project schedules and ensure timely completion of milestones.
- Conduct daily coordination meetings and communicate project status to management.
- Identify and resolve field issues, conflicts, and schedule impacts.
- Maintain professional relationships with government representatives and facility personnel.
Scheduling & Project Controls
- Read, interpret, and drive progress schedules to achieve contract milestones.
- Develop and maintain short-term look-ahead schedules.
- Monitor subcontractor performance and productivity.
- Coordinate critical path activities and sequencing of work.
- Implement recovery plans when schedule delays occur.
Quality Control & Documentation
- Ensure work complies with contract drawings, specifications, approved submittals, and quality standards.
- Oversee material deliveries and verify compliance with project requirements.
- Track inventory and coordinate procurement needs.
- Maintain accurate daily reports, manpower logs, weather logs, safety records, and construction documentation.
- Assist with inspections, punch lists, testing, commissioning, and project closeout activities.
Safety Management
- Enforce company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
- Conduct toolbox talks, safety meetings, and site inspections.
- Ensure subcontractor compliance with project-specific safety requirements.
- Identify and correct unsafe conditions immediately.
- Promote a culture of safety and accountability.
Federal Compliance & Security
- Ensure compliance with all federal, military, NASA, Air Force, and Space Force requirements.
- Coordinate site access, badging, and security requirements.
- Protect Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and other sensitive project information.
- Maintain compliance with all installation-specific regulations and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of construction superintendent experience.
- Minimum 3 years managing federal, military, aerospace, or government construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of commercial, industrial, and institutional construction practices.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, schedules, RFIs, and submittals.
- Experience managing multiple subcontractors and concurrent work activities.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Required Certifications
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification

Security & Access Requirements
- Must successfully pass federal background investigations.
- Must be eligible for and maintain access credentials required for NASA, Air Force, and Space Force installations.
- Must comply with all badging, security, and access control procedures.
Strict Installation Compliance
Employees must adhere to all federal installation requirements, including strict zero-tolerance policies regarding:
- Weapons, firearms, or ammunition on federal property
- Alcohol or controlled substances while on duty or on federal installations
- Unauthorized photography or recording
