Payroll Specialist (Part-Time) (Remote)

COME JOIN OUR TEAM AS A PAYROLL SPECIALISTMAVENTRI is seeking an experienced and dependable professional, to support our clients' payroll and human resources operations.This role is primarily focused on payroll processing and compliance, while also providing HR-related support to small and growing businesses. The most successful candidate thrives in a multi-client environment, is highly organized, dependable, and confident navigating multiple payroll systems and deadlines.We provide fractional payroll and human resources to small and growing businesses, so your daily work will be working with multiple clients in a supportive and consultative role. You will be preparing and processing a dozen or so small business payrolls, on different pay schedules on varying payroll platforms.This role will primarily provide Payroll support, but may also learn and assist with HR-related support, as we take a team approach to our fractional, project, and consulting services to our small business clients.This is a Part-Time Regular position, with an average of 15-20 hours per week - some weeks will have more hours due to more payroll deadlines. There may be opportunities in the future to grow as the company grows (to more hours or even full time).Must have daytime availability, and ability to work occasionally until 7:00pm EST for payroll deadlines, and sometimes holidays for preparation timelines.Remote work, with the possibility for in-person meetings for team connection or company networking.Preferred locations: Central Florida or Northern Virginia areasReliable internet is required.REQUIREMENTSSchedule RequirementsMonday through Friday, during business hours of 8-5 EST, with occasional weekend and/or holiday requirements depending on payroll deadlinesAverage workload of 3 hours per day, but will vary based on the number of payrolls to prepare.Must be able to work and check in every day, at different times to be available for urgent or time sensitive payroll issues as well as payroll preparation follow-ups (for example, you work 3 hours in the morning, you also check in late-afternoon for follow-up).Hours worked each day will vary depending on payroll processing schedules; Flexibility for some payroll prep work to be completed outside of business hours, if desired.Required Experience5 years of experience processing payrolls Gusto and Paylocity, required. QuickBooks, Patriot, ADP, and others are a plus.Experience with both small and medium sized business payrolls.Experience with payroll platform implementations and migrations.Experience in drafting payroll-related documentation (process, procedure, etc.) and training materialExperience with opening, closing, and resolving issues with state payroll tax accountsStrongly PreferredFPC or CPP (current or past)Experience in a consultant-type role where you have multiple clientsExperience with Government Contractor payroll and complianceLocated in Florida or VirginiaRequired Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAbility to switch between clients and tasks to stay on top of multiple payroll schedules, processes, and platformsExtremely detail oriented, for both process and payroll numbersAbility to learn quickly new technology (payroll platforms, related HR and Benefit systems)Skilled in building workflows, both in processes and platformsSkilled in customer service and communicationSkilled in troubleshooting system issuesExtremely reliable, dependable, and resourcefulA deep knowledge of Payroll practices, as well as Federal payroll rules and regulationsA general knowledge of employment rules and regulations.Excellent Time Management, Communication, and Organizational skillsAct with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality at all timesBENEFITSAs a part-time employee of MAVENTRI, you will be eligible to participate in a number of company-sponsored benefits:Company-provided hardware: Laptop computer.
