Database Technician

Maven Royalty Management specializes in acquiring mineral and royalty interests in unconventional resource plays throughout the United States. MRM manages a family of funds structured to make direct investments on behalf of its investors. The company is a Registered Investment Advisor that oversees hundreds of millions in capital and assets.

We are a small, but growing, team that prides ourselves in doing excellent work and making intelligent investment decisions to create superb returns for our investors. We are looking to add depth to our Asset Management team by hiring a Database Technician.

The ideal candidate possesses a blend of technical skills centered around data analytics, data visualization, and database management, combined with oil and gas industry specific knowledge. They work well under pressure. They are organized, dependable, and detail oriented. They are looking to join a small company in the Shreveport-Bossier area, and don’t mind wearing multiple hats.

We will also consider training inexperienced candidates that have a technical database management background (from other industries or education).

Relevant skills, knowledge, and experience

·        Degree or certification in computer science, math, or IT preferably with Oil and Gas experience

·        Proven proficiency in Microsoft Power BI (DAX and Power Query, dashboard creation and aesthetics),

SQL (syntax and functions, queries, stored procedures), Excel, and Aries

·        Ability to excel under pressure

·        Detail-oriented with the ability to step back and see the big picture

·        Exposure to oil and gas or private equity is desired

·        Ability to work independently while functioning as part of a team

·        Strong communication and interpersonal skills

·        Strong analytical mind that doesn’t stop until a project is complete, with the ability to identify trends and patterns within data sets

Potential roles and responsibilities (will depend on experience)

·        Manage multiple Oil and Gas reserve databases (Aries)

·        Capture and track updates related to ownership, status changes, and economic assumptions

·        Generate revenue projections, reserve reports, and value estimates

·        Build and update recurring Microsoft Power BI reports for clients and investors

·        Refresh and review data models and reports in PowerBI
