About the Role
Join a fast-growing lobbying firm led by some of the top government affairs, legal and political minds specializing in federal and multi-state lobbying, public affairs, and advocacy. As the firm expands its bipartisan capabilities, this role will be instrumental in broadening our reach across the aisle and deepening relationships with policymakers across the political spectrum. As a Government Affairs Director, you will manage relationships with government officials, advocate for client interests, and help shape public policy at the federal and state levels.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop and execute lobbying strategies to influence legislative and regulatory outcomes at federal and state levels.
· Build and maintain relationships with key policymakers, agencies, and stakeholders.
· Engage with executive branch officials and federal agencies to advocate for public policy positions, regulatory priorities, and funding initiatives aligned with organizational objectives.
· Monitor, analyze, and report on legislative and regulatory developments relevant to client interests.
· Prepare persuasive materials, testimony, and briefings for meetings with legislators and committees.
· Coordinate and participate in advocacy campaigns, grassroots mobilization, and coalition building.
· Ensure compliance with all lobbying registration and reporting requirements.
· Support public affairs initiatives, including media outreach and public speaking engagements.
· Leverage subject matter expertise to advocate for our clients on complex policy issues.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in public affairs, political science, law, or a related field (advanced degree a plus).
· 4 years’ experience on Capitol Hill or Presidential Administration and/or government relations, lobbying, or policy advocacy (federal experience preferred).
· Campaign experience is a plus.
· A professional network that complements and expands the firm's existing relationships across the political spectrum
· Strong understanding of the legislative process and regulatory environment.
· Excellent communication, relationship-building, and strategic planning skills.
· Track record of effectively coordinating multiple complex projects in a fast-paced environment.
· Proven ability to identify and capitalize on policy and funding opportunities that drive strategic partnerships, enhance visibility ,and generate new business.
