What are the responsibilities and job description for the AI Operations Manager position at Mauro Motors Inc?
About Us
Mauro Motors is a second-generation, family-owned luxury automotive dealership group in Connecticut — Mercedes-Benz of North Haven, BMW of North Haven, BMW of Bridgeport, and Mercedes-Benz Van Center of North Haven. We're growing aggressively and building the infrastructure to support that growth with AI at the center.
We've invested in Claude Enterprise (Anthropic's AI platform) and we need someone to own it. Not evaluate it. Not explore it. Own it — and turn it into a competitive advantage across every department in the group.
The Role
You'll be the single point of ownership for AI strategy and execution across our dealership group. You'll report directly to the President and work across every department — sales, service, parts, F&I, marketing, accounting, and HR — to find where AI can eliminate waste, speed up decisions, and improve results.
This isn't a support role. You'll be building the systems that change how we operate.
What You'll Do
- Own the AI adoption roadmap across all four stores and at the group level
- Design and build workflows, automations, and custom Claude Projects and Skills tailored to dealership operations
- Manage all Claude Enterprise connectors and MCP integrations (Microsoft 365, CRM, DMS, and other dealership platforms)
- Build and maintain scheduled and automated tasks — daily inbox management, inventory analysis, report generation, follow-up workflows, and more
- Train department managers and staff on using AI tools effectively in their daily work
- Spend time in each department to understand pain points and identify new AI use cases
- Track adoption metrics and ROI so we can measure what's actually working
- Stay current on Claude platform updates, new integrations, and AI developments — bring recommendations to leadership
- Coordinate with technology vendors on AI-related integrations
What We're Looking For
- 2 years of hands-on experience implementing AI tools in a business environment — not just experimenting, actually shipping things people use every day
- Strong working knowledge of Anthropic's Claude platform (Enterprise features, Skills, MCP connectors, Projects) — or demonstrated ability to learn complex platforms quickly
- Systems thinker — you design workflows and automations, not one-off tasks
- Enough technical skill to write advanced prompts, build Skills, configure integrations, and troubleshoot — you don't need to be a software engineer, but you can't be afraid of a terminal
- Strong communicator — you'll translate between "what AI can do" and "what the service manager needs Monday morning"
- Self-directed and resourceful — there's no playbook for this role; you'll be writing it
- Automotive dealership experience is a plus but not required — business operations experience in any industry works if you learn fast
Software & Platform Proficiencies:
Experience with some or all of the following is expected. You don’t need to be an expert in every tool — but you should be comfortable learning new platforms fast and connecting them together.
Required:
- Anthropic Claude — Claude Enterprise, Projects, Skills, Cowork, Code, Design, MCP connectors, prompt engineering
- Microsoft 365 — Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, Power Automate, Excel
- GitHub — version control, repository management, collaborative development workflows
Preferred:
- Workflow & automation platforms — n8n, Zapier, Make, or similar orchestration tools
- Data platforms — Snowflake, BigQuery, or similar cloud data warehouses
- Customer data & analytics — Tealium, Segment, or similar CDP/tag management tools
- API integrations — comfortable working with REST APIs, webhooks, and JSON
- Dealership platforms — DMS/CRM systems (a plus, not required) Dealertrack DMS, vAuto, VinSolutions, X-Time, etc.
What We Offer
- Salary: $75,000 – $110,000 depending on experience
- Direct access to the President — no layers between your ideas and decisions
- Ground-floor opportunity to build an AI program from scratch at a growing company
- Health, dental, and vision insurance
- 401(k) with company match
- Paid time off
Why This Role Is Different
Most companies hiring for AI are adding someone to a 200-person IT department. Here, you are the AI team. You'll have executive sponsorship, budget, and the authority to move fast. If you've been stuck somewhere good ideas die in committee, this is the opposite of that.
We're not looking for someone who wants to write white papers about AI. We want someone who builds things that work.
