Job Description

The base salary range for this position is $19.52 - $22.96 hourly.

• Operates dish machines, burnisher, buffer and other related equipment.
• Ensures all kitchen equipment is cleaned to standard and ready for service the next day.
• Ensure clean china, glassware, silver, flatware, pots, pans and other kitchen equipment.
• Polish stainless steel, silver, copper and other items to standards. Be able to set and break down function events.
• Removes all trash, slob waste and recycled items and other waste products to its proper areas.
• Restock proper clean pots, pans, china, glassware and silverware to its appropriate places.
• Performs duties as assigned under the supervision of the Chief Steward.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
  
  

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Transfers and delivers food for the culinary staff to areas needed. Transfer food and other related equipment to and from banquet function areas.
• Ability to grasp, lift, and carry a maximum of 50 lbs.
• Ability to push or pull equipment weighing up to 200 lbs
• Indoor and outdoor weather conditions, sometimes humid, wet, windy or hot conditions.
• Heavy pushing, reaching, lifting, grabbing, bending. Standing required for long periods of time in a confined space.
• Handles kitchen equipment and machinery on a regular basis.
  
  

Skills

• Use of chemicals in accordance with established instruction as guidelines.
• Assist in a timely manner to fellow associates and other management.
• Observes department and hotel safety rules, follows safe working habits, including proper sanitation.
• Uses proper safety equipment and follows all safety rules established by the hotel and the department.
• Individual must be able to perform mental activities such as learning, thinking, following instructions, concentrating, interacting with others, handling stressful situations, self control, attention to detail, and be reliable.
• Ability to clean, wash, polish, extending arms over head, standing, bending, walking, and working continuously for extended periods of time to perform cleaning tasks and work in confined spaces.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language sufficient to communicate with fellow associates and guests.
• Must be self-motivated and results oriented.
• Performs routine tasks under little or no direct supervision.
• Ability to follow instructions and direction by the staff.
• Ability to project self in a professional manner.

Education:

• Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skill and ability.
  
  

Experience

• Prefer some previous stewarding experience.
  
  

Other

• Ability to obtain tuberculosis clearance.
