What are the responsibilities and job description for the Prevention Specialist position at MAUMEE VALLEY GUIDANCE CENTER?
Maumee Valley Guidance Center is seeking a motivated individual with a passion for helping people and communities. The Prevention Specialist implements prevention efforts designed to promote mental health awareness, social and emotional learning, suicide prevention, and substance use prevention. The Prevention Specialist provides evidence-based prevention programs within the community and schools. Public speaking and strong written communication skills are necessary. This position does require travel throughout Defiance, Fulton, Henry, and Williams Counties.
Bachelor’s Degree in social work, with LSW or LSW eligibility, preferred. Bachelor's Degree or Associate’s Degree in related field, such as psychology, education, or human services will also be considered. Ohio Prevention Specialist Certification, or ability and willingness to obtain certification, is required. Applicants must be at least 21, pass a background check, have a valid driver’s license, dependable transportation, and proof of auto insurance. Competitive salary and comprehensive benefit package.
