Core Responsibilities
Client Delivery & Workstream Governance
- End-to-End Execution: Direct project teams and sub-teams to execute engagements strictly to contract specifications, timeline baselines, and established budgets.
- Artifact Management: Author and manage critical project management artifacts, including detailed Work Breakdown Schedules (WBS), dynamic RAID logs (Risks, Actions, Issues, Decisions), compliance tracking matrices, and multi-supplier communication plans.
- Meeting Facilitation: Lead project status meetings, functional area syncs, and stakeholder sessions; take absolute ownership of capturing and disseminating clear agendas, meeting minutes, and tracking logs.
- Business Analysis & Future State Design: Lead deep Discovery phases, conducting stakeholder elicitation interviews and workflow observations to map complex current-state environments, identify process gaps, and design future-state frameworks.
- Research & Synthesis: Conduct robust market scans and peer-state best practices research; synthesize raw data into high-quality, client-ready deliverables, technical specifications, and executive presentations.
- Talent Mentorship: Provide direct guidance, career development tracking, and performance feedback to Senior Associates, Associates, and Interns assigned to your workstreams.
- Methodology Innovation: Leverage professional technology tools to streamline manual analysis frameworks and actively contribute to the expansion of the firm’s proprietary tools and templates.
- Trusted Advisory: Maintain open, consistent communication with agency personnel beyond active engagements, demonstrating a thorough, big-picture understanding of the client’s industry trends and operational realities.
- Proposal Support: Proactively identify out-of-scope tasks on active accounts and assist leadership during the proposal development process for new procurement opportunities.
- Public Sector Project Delivery: Minimum guideline of 5 years (60 months) of progressive professional experience in management consulting or project management, with experience supporting state, local, or higher education public sector agencies.
- Platform & Modernization Exposure: Experience managing or supporting enterprise system modernization projects or migration to cloud-based platforms (e.g., Workday, PeopleSoft, Tyler Technologies, or similar SaaS/SOP architectures).
- Procurement Cycle Familiarity: Proven track record assisting with formal public sector procurement cycles, including the development of Statements of Need, RFI/RFP document assembly, and vendor evaluation tracking mechanisms.
- Certifications: Active Project Management Institute PMP Certification and associated technical or change management credentials (e.g., Prosci, CISA, CISSP) are highly valued.
