Maui Humane Society is an open-air animal shelter for cats, dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, turtles, and other animals in need of safe shelter. We are the island’s only open-admission animal shelter, providing veterinary and routine care and helping surrendered animals find a new home. We also provide humane law enforcement services, humane education and outreach, and low-cost spay and neuter surgeries. As a Full-Time Veterinary Technician at Maui Humane Society, you will play a pivotal role in the health and well-being of our sheltered animals. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting routine health examinations, assisting veterinarians in surgical preparations, and providing vital medical support under the supervision of our experienced Chief Veterinarian and Vet Tech Manager. You will coordinate with staff on animal health needs, maintain treatment logs, and ensure the availability of medical supplies, all while delivering exceptional customer service to adopters and the public.

What we're looking for in a Veterinary Technicain
To excel as a Full-Time Veterinary Technician at Maui Humane Society, candidates must possess a Veterinary Technician Certificate (Registered Veterinary Technician/Certified Veterinary Technician) and would ideally be Licensed and a strong familiarity with animal diseases and behavior. Effective public relations and customer service skills are essential for interacting with adopters and the community while fostering a positive atmosphere. A high school diploma or GED is required, along with a passion for animal welfare that aligns with our mission. Successful candidates will demonstrate a positive attitude and treat animals humanely and compassionately, both at work and in their personal lives.
