What are the responsibilities and job description for the Estimator position at Mattson Construction Co?
Mattson Construction has been setting the standard for quality construction in Minot and all over North Dakota for over a hundred years. Since 1903 and spanning three generations, we’ve operated under the ethic that every project should be accomplished on time and on budget. We are looking for quality full-time employees. The work is year-round.
Salary is up to $100,000 depending on education and experience.
The duties and requirements of this position are as follows:
Being familiar with Microsoft Office and estimating software is necessary.
Analyze and interpret blueprints, specifications and addendums to ensure codes and regulations are met.
Review proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, etc to determine scope of work and required contents of the estimate.
Review and incorporate historical data from past projects, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc. into unit and man-hour figures.
Solicit vendors/subcontractors for pricing information.
Material takeoffs, cost estimates, monitor raw material prices.
Maintain and prepare bid documentation.
Evaluate subcontractor bids for completeness and accuracy.
Prefer candidate to have B.S. or B.A., will consider others with experience.
