Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Electrical Estimator to join our dynamic construction team. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, construction processes, and estimating software preferablly mcCormick, with an emphasis on precision and attention to detail. The estimator will collaborate closely with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to deliver competitive bids that align with project specifications and budgets.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed electrical estimates for commercial construction projects using industry-standard McCormick software.
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and drawings to determine scope of work and material requirements.
- Prepare accurate cost estimates by sourcing pricing from suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring competitive bids.
- Review contracts, scope of work, and project schedules to identify potential risks or cost-saving opportunities.
- Collaborate with project management teams to develop budgets, schedules, and resource allocations.
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to budgets and identify areas for cost control.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of NEC standards, electrical codes, and industry best practices relevant to commercial construction estimating.
- Support contract administration by reviewing change orders, scope modifications, and ensuring proper documentation.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to estimating processes and project delivery.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction estimating with a focus on electrical systems within commercial projects.
- Strong knowledge of NEC standards, electrical codes, and construction management principles.
- Proficiency in McCormick relevant estimating or project management software tools.
- Excellent negotiation skills for working with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients.
- Demonstrated ability in cost control, pricing strategies, and contract management within the construction industry.
- Electrical experience or background in construction site management is a must.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in estimating documents.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating across teams and presenting estimates clearly.
