Job title: PGMR Permit Issuer Location: Royston - UK (On-Site Role) 12 Months FTC At Johnson Matthey, your work will matter. Using advanced metals chemistry, you’ll help tackle the world’s biggest challenges - cutting emissions, powering modern life and supporting life‑saving technologies - by applying, refining and recycling metals that matter for a healthier, more sustainable, circular future. Working Hours 42-hour week on day shifts, starting at 07:15am and finishing at 16:30 Monday to Friday The role: As a PGMR Permit Issuer, you will help drive our goals by: • Reviewing job scopes, risk assessments and work details to ensure all permitted work is carried out safely • Issuing permits only when hazards are controlled and safety measures are in place • Supporting production activities to deliver work safely, on time and to quality standards • Completing batch documentation, handovers and maintaining accurate operational records • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and contributing to continuous improvement activities • Carrying out basic maintenance checks and reporting incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions Key skills that will help you succeed in this role: • Strong commitment to health, safety and environmental standards • Good attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and build positive working relationships • Organised approach with the ability to manage tasks and meet deadlines • Basic understanding of manufacturing, engineering or chemical processes (desirable) • Qualification in English, Maths and Science (GCSE or equivalent) Even if you only match some of the skills, we’d love to hear from you to discuss further!
