Matthews & Matthews, LLP is a well-established, full-service law firm with offices in Destin and Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. The firm consists of 11 attorneys and 18 staff members and serves clients throughout Northwest Florida, from Tallahassee to Pensacola. Our practice is diverse, with a strong emphasis on real estate, business transactional matters, and litigation.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Seeking an Associate Litigation Attorney with 3–5 years of experience to join our team. The successful candidate will represent clients in a broad range of civil and business litigation matters, managing cases from inception through resolution. Responsibilities include developing case strategy, conducting discovery, drafting pleadings and motions, participating in hearings, mediations, and trials, and maintaining strong client relationships.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will have civil and/or business litigation experience, including significant experience handling discovery, motion practice, depositions, and trial preparation. First-chair trial experience is strongly preferred. Candidates should demonstrate excellent legal research, writing, advocacy, negotiation, and communication skills, along with strong organizational abilities and sound professional judgment. The ability to work both independently and collaboratively is essential. Applicants must be admitted to The Florida Bar and be members in good standing.
