We’re supporting our client, a leading instruments manufacturer based in Allentown, New Jersey who are looking for a Quality Assurance Manager to join their growing team. The successful Quality Assurance Managerwill have experience establishing inspection priorities for products to ensure efficient operations and delegating tasks and assignments.
Responsibilities:
- Walks manufacturing floors and inspects parts in process.
- Measure physical parts against drawings to ensure accurate specifications.
- Performs visual quality audits.
- Inspects inbound electrical and mechanical material, in-process assemblies, and final product.
- Accepts/rejects finished products and discusses inspection results with the Production teams.
- Oversight and management of all reported customer concerns related to sales and shipments.
- Conducts root cause and corrective action investigations.
- Attends bi-monthly In-house Rejections meetings.
- Detects faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notifies the supervisor.
- Use of conventional and precision measuring instruments (calipers/measuring tape).
- Evaluate and recommend new vendors.
- Oversight and management of MRR, IPR, and CAR processes.
- Development and administration of KPI’s and metrics related to quality companywide.
- Organize and present Quality Defect Analysis to Company Officers during monthly meetings.
- Works with outside entities and human resources to source and interview candidates for hire.
- Trains new employees on departmental workflows and procedures
- Creates and updates all JHA’s and SOPs for the department.
- Keeps all records current pertaining to the Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Program.
- Oversees and manages daily operations of the department; establishing inspection priorities for products to ensure efficient operations and delegating tasks and assignments.
- Reviews daily production logs to ensure proper documenting of labor.
- Maintains employees’ work schedules and approves time off requests while ensuring proper staffing levels.
- Reviews and approves employee’s timecards for payroll processing.
- Trains, monitors and continuously coach performance of staff including counseling when needed.
- Effectively communicates policies, expectations, and workloads of the department to create a successful team.
- Provides oversight and direction for the staff.
- Resolves manufacturing difficulties that may arise during construction of products.
- Provides flexibility and sets an example to staff by continually exemplifying punctuality, flexibility, and readiness to assist the team.
- Conducts ninety (90) day and annual employee performance reviews.
- Recommends qualified employees as they progress throughout the company.
- Enforces safety rules and guidelines and quality standards including all company policies and procedures.
- Ensures job assignments are completed in a safe and productive manner while maintaining high quality levels.
- Confers with management to establish production and quality control standards.
- Adheres to standardized work practices in a continuous improvement environment.
- Keeps work areas clean and organized while taking care of all equipment and facilities.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
