What are the responsibilities and job description for the Civil Project Engineer position at Mattern & Craig?
Mattern & Craig, an employee-owned Engineering and Survey Firm, is seeking a motivated and responsible individual for a Civil Engineering position in the Charleston, SC office. This is a full-time position with technical design and potential project-management responsibilities.
The successful candidate will be assigned to a variety of projects with responsibilities that include but are not limited to: water/wastewater system infrastructure design, preliminary engineering studies/reports, land development design, stormwater analysis and design, development of erosion and sediment control plans, plan and specification development, preparation of cost estimates, and potential coordination with clients, reviewing agencies, and consultants.
Minimum Requirements:
- B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program
Preferred Qualifications:
- EIT certification; ability to obtain PE within 1-3 years
- Knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, processes, design/build, permitting, and project work-related issues
- Excellent engineering design, written, oral, and communication skills
- Knowledge of Autodesk Civil 3D, GIS, MicroStation, Microsoft Office software
