JOB DESCRIPTION
The primary purpose of the BHT is to provide care to the individuals that are deemed to be most in need and to assist in their daily needs. In addition, the Behavior Health Technician will help maintain and improve the quality of care that is provided to the individuals. We do this by developing individual skills and behavior plans that are implemented by our professionals and also by providing our clients with resources and support to help them reach their goals. Collaborates: Treatment Team
Summary: Under the direction of the Behavior Consultant, the Behavior Health Technician is responsible to provide authorized hours of service weekly per family in the home, school, or community to include implementation of the treatment plan.
Treatment Plan:
Collaborates with other members of the treatment team, including Behavioral Consultant, teacher, and parent, to implement behavioral intervention and treatment plan.
Data Collection:
Collects data on the behaviors that are addressed by the treatment Plan. Reports all at-risk behavior or potential abuse/neglect situations to Clinical Director/Behavior Consultant immediately. Submits all documents, along with invoice, on time to Clinical Director. Provides detailed progress notes of each session. Maintains agency notes that detail all cancellations and phone calls.
Interventions:
Appropriately uses behavioral interventions, emotional support, and other treatment interventions to achieve approved treatment goals and objectives.
CASSP:
Participates with other treatment team members in implementing goals in accordance with Pennsylvania CASSP principles (i.e., Child-centered, Family-focused, Community-based, multi-system, culturally competent, and least restrictive/least intrusive.
Education:
Provides coaching, support and role modeling to family members and significant others to support the therapeutic strategies.
Risk Management:
Addresses imminent risk events, seeking support of IBHS leadership as needed. Immediately reports all at-risk behaviors or potential abuse/ neglect situations to the Clinical Supervisor and documents it in the Client Record and on Matter of Minds Health & Wellness, LLC Incident Report.
Documentation:
Adheres to Matter of Minds Health & Wellness, LLC documentation standards. Completed detailed written progress notes of each IBHS service session. Ensures accurate and timely encounter forms.
Supervision:
Regularly and actively participates in regular supervision with the assigned supervisor.
Knowledge:
Knowledgeable of and can assess Matter of Minds Health & Wellness, LLC policy and protocols, including the Compliance-Ethics Plan, fraud and abuse prevention/reporting requirements, privacy/confidentiality, abuse/neglect mandating reporting and program, and licensing.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS ROLE:
- Have a certification as a BCaBA.
- Have a certification as an RBT.
- Have a certification as a BCAT.
- Have a behavior health certification or behavior analysis certification from an organization that is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies or the American National Standards Institute.
- Have a high school diploma or the equivalent of a high school diploma and have completed a 40-hour training covering the RBT Task List as evidenced by a certification that includes the name of the responsible trainer, who is certified as a BCBA or BCaBA.
- Have a minimum of 2 years of experience in the provision of behavioral health services.
- Current Child Abuse, PA Criminal History and FBI Criminal History clearances, liability insurance of $1,000,000/$3,000,000, physical exam that includes TB screening, current CPR/FA certification.
Ability to Meet Physical Demands
- Independent physical mobility, moderate level of physical activity (sitting, walking, standing) for office and home environments.
- Ability to observe and address behaviors in a care setting and implement crisis interventions as needed.
- Able to communicate in person, by phone and by computer.
- Able to communicate without assistance from another person (use of assistive communication devices permissible).
Ability to Meet Work Environment
1. Most work is completed indoors in an office, school, or home environment.
2. Travel to service sites is required.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
