Mattax Neu Prater Eye Center is a premier provider of advanced laser vision correction, such as LASIK, cataract correction, and advanced technology replacement lenses in Springfield, Missouri. Mattax Neu Prater Eye Center, The Best in Sight, has a Full-time Ophthalmic Technician/Assistant opening. Ideal candidate will be dependable, detail oriented, willing to take instruction, and able to work in high volume, fast paced environment with a diverse population.
Job Responsibilities:
- Must have the ability to provide good patient care and have customer service background and computer experience.
- Provide chair-side assistance, performing diagnostic tests as required by doctor.
- Administer treatment as allowed and ordered by physician.
- Prepares patient for eye exam.
- Ensure exam rooms are cleaned between each patient.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous healthcare experience required, eye experience strongly preferred, but willing to train the right person. Certification also preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical office procedures.
- Good in computers and relevant software applications and practice management technology.
- Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
- Ability to be proactive and take initiative.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Requires attention to detail.
- Deals with confidential information and/or issues using discretion and judgment.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Prior Ophthalmic Technician experience in a clinical or medical office preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
