We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Bakery Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will support the daily operations of our bakery, ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service and high-quality products. Duties
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of baked goods, ensuring adherence to food safety standards.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, taking orders, and answering questions about menu items.
- Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for efficient order processing and cash handling.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery area, including equipment and workstations.
- Support barista duties by preparing coffee and other beverages as needed, utilizing coffee experience to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Engage in sales activities by promoting bakery products and upselling items to customers.
- Handle cash transactions accurately while demonstrating basic math skills for effective cashiering.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during peak hours while managing time effectively.
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service or the food industry is preferred.
- Familiarity with food handling practices and food safety regulations is essential.
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a busy environment.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor to enhance the customer experience.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and retail math applications.
- Experience with POS systems, particularly Aloha POS or Micros POS, is a plus.
- Barista experience or knowledge of coffee preparation is advantageous but not mandatory.
