Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance services including oil changes, brake jobs, tire services, and fluid flushes
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using scan tools, test equipment, and hands‑on troubleshooting
- Complete repairs on engines, transmissions, suspension systems, steering components, HVAC systems, and electrical circuits
- Communicate clearly with the shop owner or service writer about repair needs, timelines, and parts requirements
- Provide honest assessments and help maintain the shop’s reputation for transparency and integrity
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
- Assist with occasional customer interactions when needed
- Support the team by sharing knowledge, helping with complex jobs, and contributing to a positive shop culture
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Prior experience as an automotive technician or mechanic in a shop environment
- Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving abilities
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Familiarity with both domestic and import vehicles
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Physical ability to lift parts and equipment and work in various shop conditions
- Strong work ethic and commitment to quality
Preferred Qualifications
- ASE certifications or willingness to obtain them
- Experience in an independent or small‑team shop setting
- Comfort using modern diagnostic tools and shop software
- HVAC certification (EPA 609)
