Duties
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control protocols are strictly followed.
- Take and develop dental X-rays while maintaining proper radiation safety measures.
- Manage patient records accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) using software, ensuring HIPAA compliance at all times.
- Provide chairside assistance by handling dental terminology, medical documentation, and assisting with medical coding for insurance purposes.
Skills
- Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry and chairside assisting to maximize efficiency during procedures.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, dental terminology, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining a safe clinical environment.
- Experience with Open Dental platforms is a plus.
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while adhering to safety standards; experience with medical imaging is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with team members including dental receptionists and specialists in prosthodontics or endodontics.
