About the Role
The Human Resources (HR) Internship offers a learning environment to explore Matson Navigation Inc., with meaningful HR-related projects. This is an opportunity to receive experience that requires professionalism, attention to detail, multi-tasking, as well as tactical responsibilities that will expose the intern to first-hand experiences of an HR professional.
This position requires the successful candidate to work on-site at our Walnut Creek corporate office at least three days per week.
What you'll do:
- Support the team by maintaining employee personnel files and filing systems using our HRIS.
- Compile data and prepare routine and special reports.
- Participate in talent acquisition responsibilities (e.g., resume screening, and scheduling interviews).
- Help coordinate employee engagement and company events.
- Provide administrative support with department projects and initiatives on an as-needed basis.
You have these skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong commitment to confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
- Self-motivated with strong written and verbal communication skills.
And these qualifications:
- Rising Junior or Senior in active pursuit of a Bachelor's degree.
- Completion of coursework related to human resources preferred.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher.
