Position Overview
MatrixPoint is seeking a highly strategic and consultative Director of Business Development to drive new business and expand our footprint across key industries. This role goes beyond traditional sales—focusing on identifying complex business challenges and positioning MatrixPoint as a trusted advisor across marketing transformation, AI, and technology enablement.
As a senior member of the growth team, you will report to executive leadership and play a critical role in shaping the firm’s go-to-market strategy. You will be responsible for developing executive-level relationships and uncovering high-value opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Originate Net-New Business
Develop and execute a business development strategy that positions MatrixPoint as a consultancy partner, driving sustainable revenue growth through high-value engagements.
2. Consultative Client Engagement
Engage senior business leaders (CMOs, CFOs, CTOs, etc.) to diagnose challenges and identify opportunities across media strategy, marketing effectiveness, data & analytics, and customer experience.
3. Build Executive Relationships
Establish and nurture long-term relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers, positioning MatrixPoint as a trusted, strategic partner rather than a transactional vendor.
4. Pipeline Development & Management
Build and manage a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities—from initial outreach through discovery, solution development, proposal delivery, and contract negotiation.
5. Thought Leadership & Market Presence
Represent MatrixPoint at industry events, conferences, and executive forums. Contribute to thought leadership that reinforces the company’s positioning as a forward-thinking consultancy.
6. Performance Tracking & Forecasting
Maintain accurate pipeline forecasting and performance tracking using CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot), ensuring visibility into growth progress and opportunities.
Qualifications
1. 8 years of experience in business development, consulting, or strategic sales within a marketing, media, or consulting organization.
2. Proven ability to originate and close complex, high-value engagements with senior-level stakeholders.
3. Strong understanding of the modern marketing ecosystem, including media strategy, data & analytics, marketing technology, and customer experience.
4. Demonstrated ability to lead consultative conversations that translate business challenges into strategic solutions.
5. Exceptional communication, storytelling, and executive presentation skills.
6. Strong analytical mindset with the ability to connect data insights to business outcomes.
7. Experience with CRM and sales intelligence tools (e.g., HubSpot, ZoomInfo, Winmo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator).
8. Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive, results-driven approach.
9. Willingness to travel for client meetings, industry events, and relationship development.
10. Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
