What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacy Manager / PIC position at MATRIX VIP LLC?
The Pharmacy Manager, as the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC), oversees the day-to-day operations and management of pharmacy and pharmacy team members, to ensure proper dispensing and shipment of prescription medication to patients. The Pharmacy Manager provides clinical pharmacy services to consumers and referral sources through the appropriate evaluation of prescriber orders and safe and efficient dispensing of mediation, supplies, and administration equipment in a fast-paced, closed door pharmacy. The Pharmacy Manager will also supervise the activities of the pharmacy team, as well as quality control and performance improvement procedures.
Primary Responsibilities

Leads a high-performing team by providing clear direction, coaching individuals, and fostering a collaborative work environment to achieve departmental objectives.

Manages/maintains the pharmacy’s existing licensures, permits, and registrations.

Interacts and communicates in a respectful and professional manner with team members, consumers, customers, vendors and community at large.

PIC is responsible for all departments that fall under their prevue and maintaining a full understanding of all department’s operations and responsibilities. Ensures collaboration of different departments and promotes an environment of mutual respect.

As PIC, responsible for ensuring the pharmacy complies with state and federal drug laws as regulated by the state Board of Pharmacy and FDA, and state control substances reporting system.

Responsible for daily and monthly reporting of pharmacy and productivity metrics related to role.

Supervise the activities of the pharmacy team, as well as quality control and performance improvement procedures.

Ownership of adhering and auditing to accreditation standards.

Responsible for following company policies and procedures and HIPAA privacy rules while maintaining a safe and clean work environment in the pharmacy.

Oversees pharmacy accountability for quality assurance processes to maintain pharmacy operations for their shift, in accordance with departmental and regulatory standards.

Stay current on pharmacological knowledge by studying existing and new legislation and keeping up to date with current continuing education.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience Requirements

PharmD in Pharmacy or Registered Pharmacist (RPh) with active and in good standing licensure as a registered pharmacist in the state of jurisdiction.

Previous speciality pharmacy experience required.
