Position Summary:
The Account Manager is directly responsible for effectively managing client relationships, on behalf of the company, at-all-times. This includes setting clear and realistic client expectations, continually meeting clients' needs and achieving a high-level of client satisfaction.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
• Develops and manages a strategic account plan that develops mutual performance objectives, financial targets, and critical milestones to grow new and existing accounts as assigned.
• Collaborates and clearly communicates with leadership to develop and strengthen relationships with new and existing clients to sustain and grow future business.
• Manages accounts effectively, using client relationship management (CRM) practices.
• Effectively assesses, clarifies, and validates client needs on an ongoing basis.
• Maintains a positive relationship between the company, vendors, subcontractors, and the client.
• Effectively maintains established expectations with clients and successfully keeps those expectations met for both the client and company.
o Sets clear and manageable expectations with client before, during and after the jobs/projects.
o Ensures construction activity on projects meet client expectation, at all times.
• Maintains high client satisfaction standards by making sure issues and potential conflicts are properly escalated and managed through to resolution.
Work closely with any applicable internal partners to ensure accurate reporting is kept and any potential issues are mitigated.
Serves as a liaison to the client for all substantive communication.
Provides accurate, timely and decisive forecasting on new opportunities.
Properly qualifies new opportunities by collecting essential information needed to prepare for the initial site visit and scoping of work.
Assembles scope of work and estimates then seeks appropriate approval prior to proposal submittal.
Responsible for delivering scope of work, material submittal, and bid proposal to client.
Responsible for all timely and aggressive follow up for all opportunity submitted to client.
Coordinates with leadership to confirm contract terms, mobilization, and credit limits are clearly understood and approved prior to contract execution.
Proactively communicates with leadership and the client regarding accounts receivable, setting financial expectations and terms, and forecasting to ensure integrity in financial data.
Facilitates with Director of Construction to ensure an effective scope review and buy-out process is achieved.
• Facilitates pre-Construction meetings with Director of Construction, Accounting, and client.
Keeps in constant communication with Director of Construction and the client at all phases of the project.
Participates in project closeout meeting with client and any applicable internal partners.
Maintains a complete knowledge of all operations systems, policies, and procedures.
Trains, coaches, develops, and course-corrects the actions of any assigned direct reports, as needed.
Participates in all company and industry events related to the promotion of Matrix construction services.
Primary liaison for market specific Apartment Association relations and activities.
Provides timely and constructive performance feedback to direct reports, when needed.
Performs other duties as necessary or assigned.
Requirements :
Required Job-Related Specifications:
• Must be knowledgeable of technical aspects within the construction industry.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft office products is required.
• Familiarity with Sage 100 and Quick Books is preferred.
• Previous experience and use of Salesforce for CRM responsibilities.
• Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
• Demonstrated judgment and decision-making ability.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to follow instructions from supervisors and/or more tenured co-workers.
Education, Experience and Certifications:
High school degree or equivalent is required.
A bachelor's degree in a business-related field is preferred.
At least five (5) years' experience estimating in the construction industry
Multi-family construction industry experience is preferred.
