What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nuclear P6 Scheduler position at Matrix Business Concepts, LLC?
MATRIX is in need of a P6 Project Scheduler to develop, maintain, and integrate Primavera P6 schedules for nuclear capital projects, outage activities, and license renewal programs across Monticello and Red Wing, MN.
Contract duration: 6 months - with possibility of extension
Key Responsibilities:
- Must have direct nuclear industry experience, ideally with utilities or EPCs.
- Experience scheduling projects within operating nuclear plants. Familiarity with PWR/BWR plant systems, refueling outages, and capital modification projects.
- Strong in developing and managing resource-loaded, logic-driven schedules in Primavera P6 for projects exceeding $10M in scope. Must understand critical path method (CPM) and schedule risk analysis.
- Experience linking schedule data to cost and progress tracking systems (SAP, Maximo) to support Earned Value Management (EVM) reporting.
- Project Types: Should have supported projects like SLR (Subsequent License Renewal), I&C digital upgrades, steam generator replacements, or large component refurbishments.
- Must understand how NRC oversight, outage windows, and QA constraints influence schedule flexibility and resource planning.
- Proficient in Primavera P6 (required), plus Excel, Power BI, and exposure to schedule analytics tools for reporting and performance dashboards.
- B.S. in Engineering, Construction Management, or Project Controls, or equivalent work experience. PMI-SP (Scheduling Professional) or PMP certification preferred.
- 7–20 years total experience, with at least 3–5 years in nuclear project scheduling.
