What are the responsibilities and job description for the Church Administrative Assistant position at Matoaca Baptist Church?
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
Matoaca Baptist Church’s administrative assistant manages church office operations, communications, logistical support, general administrative tasks and other duties as assigned. Key duties include producing bulletins/newsletters, coordinating facility usage and providing administrative support to clergy and staff. They are the primary point of contact in the Church office, and their duties support efficient and organized church operations.
DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Greeting church members and the public with a welcoming, professional and positive demeanor.
- Creating weekly bulletins and monthly newsletters
- Maintaining the master calendar
- Managing and returning phone calls and emails, providing correct information in a timely fashion
- Reviewing the church’s credit card report
- Printing and photocopying
- Filing church documents and physical plant records
- Providing student check-in/checkout support to Matoaca Child Development Center, when needed
- Assisting church staff and volunteers with ministry tasks
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Computer skills (basic Word Suite)
- Excellent communication (written/verbal)
- High level of confidentiality
- Organized with attention to detail
PREFERRED
- Experience in administrative, office management or similar, preferably within a church setting.
SCHEDULE
· Three days/week (9:00 am to 1:00pm)
- Baseline days of the week determined at hiring. One day must be Thursday or Friday.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
