About the Opportunity
Our client, a well-established company in the manufacturing industry, is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join its accounting team in Laurel, MD. This is a great opportunity for someone with 1–3 years of accounts payable experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in accuracy and organization.
Responsibilities
- Process and enter vendor invoices accurately and on time
- Review invoices for proper approvals and coding
- Perform three-way matching of invoices, purchase orders, and receiving documents
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Assist with weekly check runs and ACH payments
- Reconcile employee expense reports and company credit card statements
- Support month-end close and prepare routine reports
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of accounts payable or related accounting experience
- Experience with Sage 100 or similar accounting software preferred
- Strong Excel and Outlook skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
