The position involves hands-on laboratory testing, data analysis, research, and reporting, with a strong emphasis on precision, documentation, and adherence to standard operating procedures.
Key Responsibilities Analytical Testing
- Perform FTIR (Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy) and other analytical chemistry testing (STIR experience highly preferred)
- Execute testing procedures in accordance with established SOPs and regulatory standards
- Compile, analyze, and document test results in detailed technical reports
- Maintain accurate and compliant records using tools such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and DocuSign
- Conduct research on chemical compounds and their properties to support regulatory assessments
- Apply critical thinking to determine appropriate depth of research without over-analysis
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness, organization, and compliance with safety standards
- Handle and process contaminated products in accordance with established protocols
- Work independently on assigned tasks with minimal supervision
- Manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing workloads
- Follow detailed procedures, including repetitive and highly structured tasks
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field (Analytical Chemistry preferred)
OR - Minimum of 5 years of relevant scientific experience in lieu of a degree
- Advanced degrees (Master’s or PhD) are welcome
- At least 3 years of experience in a relevant scientific field (internships may count)
- Hands-on experience with analytical chemistry testing (STIR strongly preferred/critical)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Experience with Adobe Acrobat and DocuSign
