We are seeking a highly skilled Mac Systems Engineer with 5 years of hands-on experience managing macOS in large-scale, securityfocused environments. The ideal candidate understands the unique demands of engineering, software development, and creative/production workflows, and can deliver secure, automated, and resilient Mac management solutions across a diverse and technically sophisticated user base.
This role requires exceptional communication skills, strong systems thinking, and the ability to present technical solutions professionally to peers, leadership, and end users. You will partner closely with product owners, developers, designers, and security specialists to deliver world-class experiences on a hardened, enterprise-ready Mac platform.
Core Responsibilities
Mac Platform Engineering & Security
Architect, deploy, and support secure macOS environments adhering to enterprise security, compliance, and privacy standards.
Implement and maintain device hardening, configuration baselines, security controls, and compliance reporting (MSCP, CIS benchmarks, NIST guidance, Zero Trust principles).
Manage and optimize large Mac fleets (1000 devices) using modern management tools such as JAMF Pro, VMware Workspace ONE/AirWatch, InTune, Puppet, or Munki.
Develop, test, and execute deployment plans for OS upgrades, application rollouts, and configuration changes-ensuring minimal user impact.
Create and maintain detailed runbooks, SOPs, documentation, and training materials.
Automation, Troubleshooting & Systems Support
Use strong diagnostic skills to investigate and resolve complex issues related to macOS, networking, authentication, and app performance.
Use scripting (Bash, Python, Ruby, or similar) to automate workflows, enforce policies, and streamline support operations.
Demonstrate proficiency with the macOS command line, filesystem, POSIX permissions, and ACLs.
Perform advanced troubleshooting of DNS, certificated, directory services, Kerberos, 802.1X, VPN, and other core infrastructure services that support secure Mac operations.
Work within a ticketing system to provide timely updates, resolution summaries, and clear communication.
