Java eTrading Developer - W2 contract - Onsite in Jersey City, NJ

A senior Rates eTrading Java developer is required to focus on the FICC Emerging Markets eTrading deliveries. The candidate will primarily work on extending and supporting the eTrading system for the Emerging markets rates desk. The candidate will be part of strategic framework development - a multi-year project to re-platform the tech stack and develop next generation of an eTrading platform for the Emerging Markets business. The initial focus will be sovereign bonds and interest rate swaps (both d2d and d2c). The project will evolve to cover other asset classes as part of a cross-line-of-business strategic initiative. The successful candidate will be involved in all stages of the software development life cycle and will have daily interaction with traders, quants and senior stakeholders. You must be a self-starter and willing to work with new technologies.
- 5 years of core Java exp within Capital Markets
- Extensive experience of distributed, multi-threaded system development in Java (Java 1.8 preferred).
- Previous experience at a tier one bank.
- Python development experience
- An appetite to work on a high profile project in a fast paced delivery focused environment with exposure to senior business sponsors.
- Sound knowledge of software engineering design patterns and practices.
- Proactively own and resolve details of high level tasks
- Demonstrate an understanding of operational aspects of managing a software stack
