What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavioral Unit Specialist position at Mathis ISD?
Primary Purpose:
Supervise students assigned to class for disciplinary reasons. Facilitate student success in academic and interpersonal skills through their courses of study; provide a safe and optimal learning environment. Maintain a highly structured and orderly environment and provide feedback regarding student progress, expectations, goals, and activities.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
Valid teacher certification with required endorsements for subject assigned preferred but not required.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Specific knowledge of subject matter assigned.
General knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
Ability to instruct students and manage behavior.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience:
At least 1 year teaching experience.
