What are the responsibilities and job description for the Detail/Quality Control Inspector position at Matheny Motors?
Position Summary
Matheny Motors is currently seeking a detail-oriented autobody Detailer and Quality Control Inspector! The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for ensuring that vehicles meet both the body shop's and the customer's standards for quality and appearance after repairs or detailing. This role combines detailing and cleaning of vehicles after repairs have been made and identifying any cosmetic or other defects made during repairs.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough visual inspections of customer vehicles to identify any defects in the paint, bodywork, or interior that require correction.
- Perform high-quality detailing on interior and exterior surfaces of vehicles to include washing, waxing, polishing, shampooing, and deodorizing before returning to customers.
- Ensure that all repair work and detailing is completed and conforms with the company's standards and customers expectations.
- Communicate with the technicians and the body shop manager to ensure that needed corrections are made.
- All additional tasks assigned by the body shop manager
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Unrestricted driver's license and clean driving record
- Experience in auto body repair and detailing
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively with other departments
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Self-motivated and able to work with little supervision
