Doula

We are seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable Doula to provide physical, emotional, and informational support to expectant mothers before, during, and after childbirth.

Doula (Birth and Postpartum) The Doula is responsible for providing support for the mother and infant during their breastfeeding experience. Meeting with the Doula family for several appointments leading up to the birth of the expectant baby. The doula will develop a birth plan and teach relaxation techniques, breathing and comfort techniques. The Doula will remain present for the family during the duration of labor and birth. The Doula will complete perinatal and postpartum follow ups as needed to support the family.

Duties:

- Offer continuous support during labor and delivery
- Provide comfort measures such as massage, breathing techniques, and relaxation methods
- Advocate for the mother's birth plan and preferences
- Educate mothers on childbirth options and techniques
- Assist with breastfeeding initiation and newborn care guidance
- Maintain a calming presence to reduce stress and anxiety during labor

Duties may include teaching some Childbirth Prep, Newborn care and Pregnancy and Breastfeeding education classes via in-person or live video.

As birth and the labor process can vary in time of the day. We ask that the Doula is available to accommodate their schedule to be available when mothers go into Labor and during appointment. A mother could go into labor at any time including the middle of the night or early morning.

We are in need of TWO (2) Doulas.

Location/Service Area:

*Roseville/Sacramento/Elk Grove/Galt/El Dorado Hills and Folsom Service Areas.

YOU MUST HAVE 3-4 DAYS OF AVAILABILITY EACH WEEK.

Hybrid Remote (A combination of in-office appointments, in-home visits and remote duties)

Travel is required to birthing locations, hospital, families homes or the main office.

Requirements:

- Certification as a Doula preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to assist mothers with breathing techniques (e.g., inhale/exhale)
- Understanding of patient assessment during labor
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology
- Excellent patient service skills
