Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers.
- Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics, diagnostic tools, and technical manuals to identify root causes efficiently.
- Conduct repairs on transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, air brakes, and electrical components with precision.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques to assemble or repair machinery parts.
- Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and inspection reports to ensure compliance and traceability.
- Assist with equipment upgrades or modifications using fabrication skills and technical schematics.
- Support safety protocols by inspecting equipment for hazards and ensuring all repairs meet industry standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a mechanic with dealership experience preferred; strong background in automotive diagnostics and heavy equipment repair.
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems including hydraulics, transmissions, HVAC systems, shocks & struts, and diesel engines.
- Ability to read schematics accurately and interpret technical manuals for complex machinery repairs.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and fabrication tools.
- Experience operating heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial equipment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience related to service technician roles.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent customer service skills when interacting with internal teams or external clients regarding repairs or maintenance needs.
