Material Handling Systems is seeking an experienced, highly organized, and motivated General Manager to lead our Pompano Beach operations. This individual will oversee all office personnel and operational functions, including scheduling, job coordination, workforce supervision, performance management, product development oversight, and strategic planning.
The ideal candidate is proficient in Microsoft Excel, ERP systems (NetSuite preferred), and possesses strong written communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. The General Manager will ensure operational efficiency, workflow optimization, high-quality output, and exceptional customer satisfaction.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesOperational Leadership
- Plan, organize, and schedule all office personnel to ensure efficient daily operations.
- Ensure all submittals, owner’s manuals, and supporting documentation are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Manage day-to-day workload distribution, deadlines, and resource allocation.
Production & Project Oversight
- Create daily work orders for technicians for in-shop fabrication and field installation; review and sign off on completed work.
- Work closely with engineering and drafting teams to manage product design, development, and project requirements.
- Establish project parameters, schedules, and individual/team goals.
- Provide technical oversight as needed to support project success.
Process Improvement & SOP Development
- Develop process flows and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for fabrication and assembly of crane components.
- Conduct time studies to analyze productivity, identify bottlenecks, and implement efficiency improvements.
- Ensure all fabrication activities are prioritized and completed according to company standards and procedures.
- Drive quality improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
People Management
- Supervise, coach, and support office and fabrication personnel.
- Conduct performance evaluations and address personnel concerns promptly and professionally.
- Ensure employees receive required resources, tools, and training to perform job duties effectively.
- Communicate policies, decisions, and procedural updates to staff.
Customer & Business Management
- Address, mediate, and resolve customer concerns, complaints, and service issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Interact regularly with customers and maintain strong business relationships.
- Manage performance metrics, customer service levels, and overall project status.
- Contribute to the development of business plans and operational strategies.
Administrative & Technical Competence
- Utilize Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) at a high proficiency level.
- Maintain strong grammar, writing, and documentation skills.
- Continuously develop technical knowledge of company products, services, and industry standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 5 years of management and manufacturing experience required.
- Strong leadership, supervisory, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP systems; NetSuite experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license required.
