What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cabinetmaker (5+ Years Experience) position at Materia Millwork?
Materia Millwork is a high-end custom cabinetry and millwork shop specializing in architecturally driven residential projects. We are seeking an experienced cabinetmaker who can take ownership of work, operate independently, and contribute across all phases of production.
This is a mid level role within our internal team structure, with room for growth, but we are ultimately looking for a well rounded craftsman with real world experience.
What You’ll Do
- Fabricate, assemble, and prepare high end custom cabinetry and millwork
- Read and interpret shop drawings and construction documents
- Operate woodworking machinery and hand tools with confidence and precision
- Execute detailed work including doors, drawer fronts, hardware installs, and custom components
- Perform veneer work, material prep, and finishing tasks
- Troubleshoot issues in production and adjust as needed
- Maintain quality control standards throughout the build process
- Support and guide less experienced team members when needed
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 5 years of cabinetmaking experience (required)
- Strong understanding of woodworking techniques, materials, and processes
- Ability to work independently and stay productive without constant oversight
- High attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship
- Problem solving mindset with the ability to adapt on the fly
- Comfortable working across all aspects of cabinetmaking
- Reliable, self-motivated, and team-oriented
About the Role
At Materia, we operate with a tiered structure that supports growth across all skill levels. While responsibilities scale with experience, all team members are expected to contribute across the full scope of work from material prep to final assembly, reinforcing a collaborative and versatile shop environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to regularly lift 75 lbs
- Comfortable working on your feet and from ladders when needed

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
