Family Law Legal Assistant

We are seeking an experienced Legal Assistant who enjoys working in a fast-paced practice, values organization and attention to detail, and takes pride in helping attorneys provide outstanding representation to clients during some of the most important moments of their lives.
Position Summary
The Legal Assistant plays a vital role in supporting our attorneys and ensuring the efficient day-to-day operation of the practice. This position requires strong organizational skills, professionalism, excellent communication, initiative and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, conscientious, technologically proficient, and enjoys working as part of a close-knit team.
Responsibilities
- Manage attorney calendars, appointments, court dates, deadlines, and scheduling for multiple attorneys.
- Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, experts, and other professionals.
- Draft routine correspondences.
- Prepare and organize documents for court filings and hearings.
- Maintain electronic and physical client files in a meticulous manner.
- Coordinate client intake and onboarding of new clients.
- Track deadlines and ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Assist attorneys in preparing trial preparations, exhibits, and hearing materials in a timely and detail oriented manner.
- Organize financial documents and discovery materials.
- Answer phones and provide exceptional client service and empathetic approach.
- Assist with general administrative and office management tasks as needed to support the firm.
Qualifications
Required:
- 2–5 years of experience as a legal assistant or litigation legal assistant.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat. and file sharing softwares.
- Professional demeanor with excellent client service skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Preferred:
- Experience in Pennsylvania family law.
- Experience with electronic court filing.
- Familiarity with legal billing and time entry.
- Experience using legal case management software.
