About the Role:

The Crane Operator plays a critical role in the safe and efficient movement of heavy materials and equipment within industrial, construction, and offshore drilling environments. This position requires precise operation of overhead cranes and other heavy machinery to support various phases of project execution, including loading, unloading, and positioning of materials. The operator must maintain strict adherence to safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Collaboration with rigging teams and other personnel is essential to coordinate lifts and maintain workflow continuity. Ultimately, the Crane Operator contributes to the overall success of operations by ensuring materials are handled safely, timely, and accurately.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid crane operator certification recognized in the United States.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience operating overhead cranes and heavy equipment in industrial or offshore drilling environments.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of rigging techniques and hand tool usage.
  • Ability to read and interpret load charts, safety manuals, and operational procedures.
  • Physical ability to work in demanding environments including oil fields and refineries.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with forklift operation and certification.
  • Previous work experience in offshore drilling or refinery settings.
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety standards specific to crane operation.
  • Training in advanced rigging and signaling techniques.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate overhead cranes and other heavy equipment to lift, move, and position materials in accordance with project specifications and safety guidelines.
  • Inspect cranes and rigging equipment daily to identify and report any mechanical issues or safety hazards.
  • Coordinate with rigging crews and site supervisors to plan lifts and ensure proper load handling techniques are used.
  • Maintain clear communication with team members using hand signals, radios, or other communication devices to ensure safe operations.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies related to crane operation, rigging, and work environment standards.

The required skills such as heavy equipment operation, overhead crane handling, and rigging are essential for safely moving and positioning heavy loads on a daily basis. Proficiency with hand tools supports routine maintenance and minor adjustments to equipment, ensuring operational readiness.
