The Reality of the Role (What to Expect)
We believe in full transparency. This is not a passive, "sit-behind-a-glass-window" desk job. You are the heart and central hub of a fast-paced, technology-driven addiction medicine clinic.
You will handle a high volume of phone calls, manage the physical waiting room, and keep patient flow moving smoothly.
You will handle administrative duties (like insurance and billing) and direct clinical support (like queueing up prescriptions and occasionally assisting with urine drug screens).
You must be flexible and capable of regularly traveling to support our different clinic locations as needed.
Act as the face of MATClinics. Greet patients warmly, assist with intake paperwork, scan IDs/insurance cards, and ensure accurate demographic records.
Verify insurance eligibility, explain financial responsibilities, and accurately process patient copays and payments.
Assist the medical team by accurately entering electronic prescriptions into the EHR pending queue for provider review and release.
Answer inbound calls with a high level of customer service, triage patient inquiries, and manage the digital appointment book.
Coordinate patient flow between offices, generate resource and referral lists for patients under provider direction, and connect individuals to vital support services.
Maintain an all-hands-on-deck mentality. This includes assisting the clinical team with collecting urine samples in high-volume offices, responding to critical email updates, and performing daily light cleaning to keep administrative and clinical spaces sanitary and professional.
What You Bring (Qualifications)
High School Diploma or GED required.
1 years of experience in a medical office, clinic, or healthcare environment is preferred. Medical Assistant (MA) experience is a major plus!
A solid understanding of health insurance, including copays, deductibles, eligibility checks, and the verification process.

A "patient-first" service mentality, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to pivot quickly between tasks in a fast-paced environment.
