Senior Director Finance

The Finance Director will lead the financial strategy, management, and operations of all matters relating to Boxing within the company. This role is responsible for ensuring financial integrity, driving performance, and providing strategic insight to support profitability. This includes operational costs, as well as capital and cash planning.

The successful candidate will be both a strategic partner and a hands-on operator, with strong leadership and commercial acumen. The Senior Director, Finance will report to the Boxing CEO, COO and Group Finance Director and will lead multiple companywide financial and operational planning cycles.

Responsibilities

• Lead all global financial matters pertaining to boxing within the Company including but not limited to budgeting, financial reporting, and financial analysis related to boxing events 
• Provide clear analysis of profitability and cost drivers
• Lead all accounting matters specific to the United States for Boxing, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards, state regulations, and event to event reporting requirements
• Oversee all financial operations including tax and treasury for matters specific to the United States for Boxing including managing cash flow and working capital
• Lead on all payment requirements related to events, fighters and vendors across the Boxing business 
• Provide the business with a critical conduit between the Boxing business and broader Finance teams – focusing on information flow and process improvement
• Provide strategic insight and recommendations to the executive team and board on financial performance, risks, and opportunities within the Boxing business
• Prepare multiple formats of financial statements for both internal and external audiences on actual results, budgets, forecasts etc.
• Focus on identifying areas of opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability
• Analyze potential business deals from a financial perspective – revenue and costs 
• Support the building and management of the annual operating plan, quarterly and real-time forecasts, as well as deliverables for senior leaders
• Special projects and ad hoc analyses/reports as requested
• Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement
• Collaborate cross-functionally to align financial strategy with operational goals

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
• Minimum 7-10 years of work experience relating to budgeting, forecasting, and analytics
• Strong skills in Excel and PowerPoint
• New York Area based or the ability to work on a hybrid basis with monthly travel to New York

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in events / sports preferred 
• Experience building and managing financial models
• Strong analytical and financial modeling skills; ability to understand variance and trend analyses
• Strong understanding of corporate governance, tax, and compliance frameworks.
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment
• Excellent communicator with the ability to work cross-functionally

Terms / Expected Hours of Work

• Normal working hours are from Monday to Friday inclusive, 9.00am to 5.30pm. You are, however, expected to work such additional hours without additional remuneration as the needs of the Company and any relevant Group Company dictate. 
• 30% travel including weekends where event related
• This job posting contains a pay range, which represents the range of salaries or hourly rates that the Matchroom believes, in good faith, at the time of this posting that it might be willing to pay for the posted job in the location(s) specified. Matchroom Boxing expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would Matchroom Boxing consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range. Salary $150,000—$200,000 USD
