The Budmaster Store Manager is the in-house champion and local leader responsible for the overall operation of the Dispensary. Our ideal Budmaster Store Manager is – first and foremost – an ambassador for our mission, prioritizing customer service over all other tasks.

The Budmaster Store Manager must possess an entrepreneurial spirit with a talent for using existing resources to maximize revenue and profit. In this role, you will lead the training and development of the team, empower employees to work together to reach organizational goals and objectives, and serve as their number one cheerleader and coach.


Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the dispensary's compliance with security, inventory, and local and state regulations
  • Responsible for providing a high level of education and development for staff pertaining to cannabis strains, edibles, concentrates and consumption mechanisms
  • Document financial, Inventory and customer trends; maintain sales and purchasing reports
  • Manage and maintain dispensary sales and inventory management software.
  • Responsible for the creation of daily/monthly work plans to ensure that sales and operational goals of the store are met, utilizing staffing resources appropriately.
  • Responsible for revenue generation through multiple channels including but not limited to in store, online, and delivery.
  • Responsible for recruiting, interviewing, hiring, on-boarding, and training of employees, ensuring understanding and compliance to shop standards, organizational goals and direction; including conducting progressive counseling as necessary.
  • Formulate a pricing and promotional strategy by reviewing product sales, reports and analyzing sales trends.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with all our policies and procedures and ensuring that all organizational deadlines and directives are met.
  • Understand and fully implement our customer service program, showcasing exemplary customer service, including but not limited to greeting, saying thank you, explaining policies clearly and politely to the satisfaction of the customer, and by prioritizing assisting customers over all other shop tasks.
  • Ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business and to successfully execute new initiatives.
  • Perform all other duties as directed by supervisor and/or executive management.
  • Encourage teamwork and foster creativity.
  • Recognize talent and help to develop individuals for advancement within the organization.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending training meetings/sessions and through independent study.
  • Utilize sales data to identify top-selling products and trends to ensure adequate stock levels.
  • Based on sales trends and monthly increases, place timely orders to prevent stockouts and ensure the store meets customer demand.
  • Ensure that the store prioritizes top-selling brands while eliminating products that do not resonate with the customer base.
  • Ensure that shifts are properly staffed based on customer traffic. Approve overtime requests and notify the team in advance if extra hours are needed.
  • Enforce proper break schedules to ensure breaks are within the required time and avoid excessive break times.
  • Ensure staff members leave promptly when their shift ends and there is no unnecessary overtime unless approved.
  • Foster a culture of professionalism and focus, ensuring staff adhere to the company’s dress code, communication standards, and customer service protocols.
  • Ensure all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are signed, delivered in PDF format, and accessible to all staff.
  • Ensure staff follows all SOPs diligently, and all roles are clear to every team member.
  • Maintain the dispensary's compliance with all relevant state and local regulations. Ensure all necessary documentation is up to date.
  • Maintain daily safe counts and oversee the cash handling process. Ensure all cash discrepancies are immediately reported and addressed.
  • Submit weekly reports outlining daily sales figures (cash, card, Stronghold), highlighting any issues or discrepancies, and providing insights into store performance.
  • Develop and implement strategies for in-store promotions, product bundles, and discounts to increase customer loyalty and sales.
  • Evaluate customer demand and market trends to extend store hours by one hour to accommodate increased traffic.


Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or the equivalent
  • College degree preferred 3-5 years of retail management experience required
  • Cannabis knowledge or dispensary leadership experience a plus
  • Knowledge of marijuana strains, (indicas, sativas, hybrids), edibles, extracts, and current products on the market is a plus.
  • Experience in New York City Cannabis Industry, State Compliance & Regulations, and Inventory Control & Management is a plus.
  • Intermediate-level math skills.
  • Must stay current and adhere to all policies and regulations of the state cannabis agency
  • Must meet age requirement as outlined by state cannabis agency
  • Able to pass all background checks as required by state cannabis agency
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Some Human Resource principles
  • This role requires the candidate to be at least 21 years and older
