Mat-Su Surgical Associates is a growing surgical practice in Palmer, AK. We take care of patients needing surgical care with the highest level of compassion and skill. We value professionalism, kindness, and integrity.
We are looking to add a dedicated RN/LPN with excellent communication skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced outpatient surgical specialty office. Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a surgical service is preferred but not required. Shifts are weekdays Monday through Friday. No nights or weekends. This position includes performing both administrative and clinical duties, and collaborating with other staff members. Typical Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Adhere to professional standards and ethical principles
- Data entry in EMR to maintain, review, and update patient records
- Gather clinical data and medical records from referring physicians
- Review patient intake forms to ensure accuracy of health history and current medications
- Prescriptions: Fill as requested by provider and pre-authorize as needed
- Answer multi line telephone in a professional, pleasant and courteous manner, handling caller requests accurately and promptly
- Greet and bring patients to exam rooms, take vitals and health history
- Set up exam rooms properly for visits and procedures
- Assist providers during examinations and procedures
- Phlebotomy
- Prepare specimens for transport according to lab protocol
- Medical instruments with sanitation and sterilization
- Clean and stock exam rooms with supplies
- Maintain accurate records and required checklists
- Track and follow up on labs, radiology, and pathology and call patients per providers direction.
- Document test results, phone calls, patient education, and all patient interactions
- Assist in policy and procedure development, review and implementation
- Other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements:
- Be able to move about the clinic to access multiple areas.
- Stand, sit, walk, bend, squat, grasp, reach; and see, talk, or hear.
- Continually operating equipment: computer, scanner, copier, ultrasound, autoclave, etc.
- Occasional need to lift and/or transfer a patient to and from an exam table.
