Maintenance Mechanic (3rd Shift)

POSITION SUMMARY

This position maintains production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment while complying with OSHA/MIOSHA safety procedures, rules, and regulations.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

• As directed by Maintenance Coordinator, ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.
• Assists in looking at diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications to solve problems and make decisions.
• Works closely with Senior Mechanic to locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listen for problems; use precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment.

OTHER FUNCTIONS

• Facilities and grounds maintenance.
• Preventive maintenance.
• Furniture upkeep and setup for new team members or department reorganizations.
• General housekeeping.
• Maintain 5S procedures and processes.
• This job may require overtime.
• Any other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years in a maintenance position required.
• Experience working with or on a Safety program preferred.
• First Aid/CPR/AED/Blood Borne Pathogen certification preferred.
• Knowledge of accepted practices, processes, materials, and tools of the maintenance trades.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, chauffeur’s license preferred.
• Fork truck and scissor lift experience a plus.
• Basic understanding of electric motors, generators and pumps.
• Assist with routine mechanical or electrical maintenance and care for tools and equipment.
• Basic knowledge of quality assurance principles and Lean manufacturing preferred.
• Assist with working from sketches, drawings, and blueprints.
• Ability to lift over 25 lbs., bend, stoop, stand or walk for extended periods, and may be required to climb ladders.
• Excellent reasoning and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to take initiative, learn new skills and help team members.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.33 - $30.04 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
