Position Type: Full Time
Work Schedule: M-F 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Work Location: Headquarters, Kansas City, MO
Job Summary: Responsible for daily accounting tasks that support month-end and year-end processes. The Staff Accountant will possess a strong attention to detail and will assist with relevant administrative tasks. They will collaborate and provide guidance to relevant accounting department team members.
Essential Functions:
- Financial Recordkeeping:
- Maintain and update financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness in recording financial transactions.
- Reconcile bank statements and other financial documents.
- Month-End Close:
- Support the month-end and year-end close processes.
- Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and variances.
- Financial Analysis:
- Assist in the compilation of data for financial analysis.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Audit Support:
- Assist and support external auditors during annual audits.
- Prepare audit schedules and provide necessary documentation.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other departments to obtain relevant financial information.
- Provide financial expertise and support to various teams within the organization.

Required Education/Experience/Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Proven experience as a Staff Accountant or in a relevant role.
Preferred Education/Experience/Certifications:
- Transportation or Manufacturing industry experience preferred.
