Reading Specialist (IN HOME), Dyslexia Focused- Hendersonville, TN

MASTERS Plus Tutoring and Test Prep Program, is seeking a highly qualified and dynamic part-time "IN HOME" reading specialist tutor experienced with working with Dyslexic elementary students. As a MASTERS Plus tutor, you will work in an exclusive 1-1 setting, helping our students improve their reading comprehension, fluency, phonics, phonemic awareness, sight words and vocabulary development.

We are committed to helping each student reach their full academic potential by delivering customized instruction focused on the specific needs of each of our students.

This specific position requires tutor to meet in our clients home. No other meeting locations will be approved or accepted, so please do not apply if you are unable to meet in the home of our client located in Hendersonville, TN! Successful candidate must have the abiltiy to provide a thorough initial assessment of our client and then curate an individualized learning plan. Candidate must be proficient in teaching phonics, Phonemic awareness, vocabulary, writing and reading comprehension skills.

This position requires evenings, weekends are requested but not mandatory!

Candidates must have availability Monday thru Friday between 4 pm and 8 pm EST for at least 10 hours per week.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Deliver 2-4 sessions per week (60 minutes each) in the family's Hendersonville, TN home.
* Tutor clients in all aspects of Reading comprehension, including, but not limited to: phonics, phonemic awareness, fluency, vocabulary development and sight words.
* Use creative methods in teaching approach.
* Must possess the ability to differentiate instruction..
* Complete daily online student progress reports.

*Converse with parents and/or classroom teachers as needed.
* Conduct client academic assessments.

WHAT YOU BRING:
* Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in education required. Reading endorsement preferred, but not required.
* State teaching certification required.
* 2 years or more of teaching experience working with Dyslexic students required.
* Must be available to work 2 to 3 days per week between the hours of 4 pm and 8 pm EST.

* Skilled with progress monitoring tools.
* Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills a must.
* Ability to organize, analyze, and present knowledge or materials related to courses taught required.
* Must be able to motivate students who are experiencing academic difficulties.
* Must be dependable, passionate, energetic and have a strong desire to hep students succeed.

* Background check required (company pays for).

Schedule & Location

• Hendersonville, TN (in-home)
• After-school or early evening preferred; some weekend availability is a plus.
• Target commitment: 2-4 hours/week, with potential to expand.

Compensation

• $35.00 per hour, commensurate with credentials and specialized training.
• W-9 or 1099 contractor arrangement.
