Position Summary
Masters Academy is seeking a dedicated Pre-K Paraprofessional to support our lead teacher in providing a nurturing, safe, developmentally appropriate, and engaging learning environment for young children. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about early childhood education and enjoy working as part of a collaborative team.
Required Qualifications
Applicants must meet one of the following credential requirements as outlined by the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL):
- Valid Paraprofessional Certificate from the Georgia Professional Standards Commission
- Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential
- Technical Certificate or Diploma in Early Childhood Education
- Associate’s Degree (AA, AS, AAS, AAT) or Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
- Montessori Diploma (MACTE-accredited)
- Georgia PSC Certified Teacher or Master’s/Doctorate in Early Childhood or related field
Applicants must also:
- Hold a high school diploma or GED
- Be able to pass a comprehensive background check, including fingerprinting through DECAL and the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC)
- Be eligible to work in the United States
Preferred Experience
- At least 6–12 months of experience working with young children in a licensed childcare or educational setting
- Familiarity with Georgia Pre-K or state-funded early learning programs
Key Responsibilities
- Assist lead teacher with the daily implementation of classroom plans, curriculum, and instructional activities
- Support children during structured learning, play, meals, toileting, and transitions
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff
- Supervise children at all times, both indoors and outdoors
- Assist lead teacher with documentation of children’s developmental progress as directed
- Participate in professional development and training sessions
- Consistently follow all DECAL licensing requirements, Georgia Pre-K Guidelines, safety procedures, and program standards to support a safe and high-quality learning environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
