Masters Academy International
Masters Academy International is New England’s only school that combines top-tier sports and academics to prepare future leaders who excel in athletics, academics, and life. At Masters Academy International, academics aren’t placed between training sessions—they are a vital part of developing an elite performer. We’ve created a curriculum that respects the demands of our athletes without sacrificing intellectual rigor. Students are challenged through engaging coursework, grounded in inquiry, which encourages healthy disagreement and debate and emphasizes quality over quantity.
MAI’s academic program aims to strike a balance between well-being and learning for our student-athletes, helping them develop not only knowledge but also the skills necessary to succeed in a rapidly evolving world. Students are encouraged to take ownership of their education and nurture the critical and creative thinking skills required to understand and solve global challenges. As a result, our students graduate from MAI as critical thinkers, effective communicators, and confident learners prepared to excel in any field.
The Opportunity
We are seeking educators and professionals with expertise in sport leadership, analytics, management, or law to design and teach courses that prepare student-athletes for decision-making roles both within and beyond athletics. Whether your background is in sports analytics, data science, sport management, business strategy, sports law, or organizational leadership, you will create learning experiences that help students develop the quantitative, strategic, and ethical reasoning skills essential to modern sport. Course possibilities include sports analytics, examining performance metrics, predictive modeling, and data-driven strategy; sport management, exploring franchise operations, marketing, talent evaluation, and organizational leadership; and sports law and ethics, investigating contracts, governance, Title IX, labor relations, and equity issues. Our student-athletes bring discipline, work ethic, and firsthand experience in competitive environments, and they seek instructors who can help them think strategically about the industry, develop analytical skills to evaluate performance and business decisions, and understand the leadership principles that drive successful organizations. We welcome both classroom educators and professionals from sport business, analytics, law, or management who are passionate about teaching the next generation of student-athletes committed to excellence in both academics and athletics.
What You Will Do
In this role, you will design courses that develop students’ abilities as strategic thinkers, data analysts, and leaders, connecting coursework to real-world decisions faced by athletes, teams, and sport organizations. You will use current examples from professional and collegiate sports to illustrate principles in statistics, economics, organizational behavior, law, and strategic management, and lead case study discussions and simulations where students tackle complex decisions involving performance analysis, contract negotiations, organizational strategy, or ethical dilemmas. You will guide students through projects using real data, building analytical models, conducting market research, and evaluating strategic decisions, while providing thorough feedback on quantitative work, case analyses, and strategic presentations to support their growth as rigorous thinkers. Additionally, you will mentor students through one-on-one conferences, helping them connect their athletic experiences to careers in sport, leverage technology, analytics platforms, and AI tools to expand their capabilities in data analysis, research, and strategic thinking, cultivate a classroom culture that fosters curiosity, healthy debate, and evidence-based decision-making, and build meaningful partnerships with students and families through proactive communication to support each learner’s growth.
Who You Are
We are seeking candidates with professional or academic expertise in sport science, kinesiology, biomechanics, exercise physiology, physics, nutrition science, or a related field, who are passionate about helping student-athletes understand the science of performance and can make complex concepts accessible and personally relevant. The ideal candidate views athletic training and competition as rich contexts for teaching scientific thinking and inquiry, takes ownership and responsibility for student success and well-being, and understands—or is eager to learn about—the unique demands facing student-athletes, supporting them in developing balance and resilience. They embody humility by valuing collaboration over individual recognition and actively seeking feedback, demonstrate courage by facing challenges directly and taking thoughtful risks in service of student learning, and show a commitment to lifelong learning by continuously seeking new knowledge, refining their practice, and embracing innovation. Additionally, they exhibit sound judgment and adaptability, setting clear priorities in changing environments and approaching new challenges with curiosity and a growth-oriented mindset.
